Hailing from the frigid winters of Canada, Wilt unleashed their second album, Ruin, last year.
Since it’s release, Wilt has began to amass quite a following (and rightfully so). Full of dark,
ambient and atmospheric Black Metal, Wilt’s sophomore release takes the listener on a
melancholy spiritual journey into a realm of entertaining dark and depressive Black Metal. The
production comes out rich and vibrant, but not over produced, lending to a satisfying blackened
sound.
Jordan Dorge’s harrowing vocals act as a guide through the bleak darkness and perfectly meld
the music together. At times the vocals feel distant, which works quite well with the overall
nihilistic feeling that Ruin manages to accomplish. The riffs on this album come off as somber
and heavily Doom influenced with many tracks exceeding 7 minutes for plenty of thick, sludgy
listening.
Ruin is the perfect soundtrack as you travel “Into the Unknown.” Wilt does an excellent job
melding Doom Metal with Atmospheric Black Metal for a truly dark and disturbed listen.

BURIER stream GOATOWAREX debut demo at “Decibel” magazine’s website
On October 6th internationally, Goatowarex will release Burier‘s debut demo, simply self-titled, on cassette tape format. And today, Decibel magazine streams the demo in its entirety. Featuring an extremely exclusive interview with the artist behind Burier, stream Burier in its entirety exclusively HERE.Burier hail from the deepest recesses of Australia’s vast, ever-fervent black metal underground. While Burier is the artist’s first public recording, they are no mere neophyte.
On its own merits, Burier is 28 minutes of outsider aural torment. Black metal but almost in an abstracted sense, the soundfield here is defiantly RAW: impossibly distant, almost emaciated, unapologetic but wielded with tactical might. Within this cacophonous cocoon, Burier build mesmeric screeds of strangely melodic atonality, often buttressed by well-placed touches of old-growth organ. Distressed and diseased, these five paeans to pain favorably remind one of the French Black Legion’s medieval ruminations. You can almost feel the cobwebs and smell the mildew; the dungeons are calling…
Even within the underground, Burier lurk beneath it. As such, Goatowarex is proud to align strategic forces, and will endeavor to release the artist’s future recordings. You’ve been warned.

AVSLUT Set Release Date For New OSMOSE Album, Reveal First track

The highly anticipated second album from the Swedish black metal legion Avslut is finally ready to be unleashed upon the world. With nine vicious new songs, the band takes it to a whole new level with Tyranni.
Avslut depicts a deformed, decayed, and lost mankind. The group has its roots in the suburbs of Stockholm. With full force, following their well-received Deceptis debut album for Osmose last year, Avslut waste no time in continuing their reign of ice-cold, idiomatic Swedish black metal supremacy.
Now more than ever, Avslut is a weapon, an uncompromising passage to meet your fate. Prepare yourself for infernal war and even more intense and authentic material than ever before with Tyranni. LEGION, ARISE!

Power From Hell’s fifth album is another trip down memory lane with strong influences from the
early 80’s heavy hitters such as Slayer, Venom and Bathory. For over 15 years now these
Brazillian thrashers have had a cult following in underground metal. Not without reason as
Devil’s Whorehouse is a simple yet satisfying album full of headbanging mini anthems and dark
and dreary atmosphere.
The album hits with the track, “Old Metal,” which immediately gives off a Venom vibe with it’s
hybrid feeling of Black/Thrash Metal riffs. Most tracks follow suite with plenty of filthy riffs and
croaking vocals that aren’t meant to be understood. The band also manages to slow things
down with their some atmospheric offerings on the track “Black Forest.” Nodding heavily to the
early Norwegian scene that first made Black Metal so intoxicating. “Long Road to Hell,” closing
the album out perfectly with it’s surprisingly groovy and bluesy feel.
Power From Hell’s Devil’s Whorehouse manages to be a great listen and one that fans for Blackened Thrash Metal will be sure to add
to their collections.

Philly based quartet Botis, unleash a plague of slick as hell Black Metal that sounds almost too good to be a self produced debut album. Mind you, this isn’t your traditional type of Black Metal either with plenty of Thrash and Melodic Death Metal thrown in for a satisfying and complex listen.
The opening track fires off with a technical ferocity of killer riffs, pulverizing blast beats and inhuman screams before slowing things down for a brutal midsection piece with some great bass work added to the mix. Taking bits and pieces from across the entire metal spectrum, Botis showcase incredible musicianship on this release. The second track, “Rodente,” is a real standout with it’s trashy almost punk like riffs showcasing how Botis seamlessly blends many different styles into a great and even catchy song. And the eerie chorus at the end of the track? Perfection! “Gullet,” is the longest track here clocking in at a little over 8 minutes, this is an epic track with a unique piano outro that bears repeated listens. The albums closer, “The Nobel King,” finishes the album up perfectly, not too heavy, not too soft, but enough to leave you wanting more.
If this is their first attempt at a recording, Botis proves that they are a band that needs to be on your radar in the years to come.

HECATE ENTHRONED: New Album ‘Embrace Of The Godless Aeon’ Coming In January
The UK-based blackened death metal group Hecate Enthroned will release “Embrace Of The Godless Aeon,” their first album in five years (and their debut for new label M-Theory Audio), on January 25, 2019. The album – which features cover artwork by Nestor Avalos (Bloodbath, Rotting Christ, The Black Dahlia Murder), as seen to the left – can be pre-ordered now on CD and red splatter vinyl at m-theoryaudio.com/store. A limited-edition deluxe box set that includes exclusive purple vinyl and cassette editions of the album, a signed photo card and other collectibles is also available.
A new song from the album, “Temples That Breathe,” can be heard here:
One of the UK underground’s longest-running and most respected acts, HECATE ENTHRONED has been praised by the likes of Terrorizer for their “mixture of death metal aggression with black metal atmosphere.” “Embrace Of The Godless Aeon” – their first recording with vocalist Joe Stamps, who joined the band in 2015 – sees the group continue to deftly mix black with death, modern with classic and extreme with symphonic. The album, which features guest vocals on three songs by Sarah Jezebel Deva (Cradle of Filth, Therion, Mortiis), was co-produced by Dan Abela (Voices, The Antichrist Imperium).
Bassist Dylan Hughes, “This album with its epic sweeping orchestration and heavy aggression represents a new chapter for us cementing the chemistry of the current lineup and our partnership with M-Theory. A welcome return from Sarah Jezebel Deva hints to the grandiose flavor of earlier releases, but this time, it’s tempered with a guitar and drum sound forged from solid steel and then edged by a razor-sharp production from Dan Abela. The summoning of unholy flame and terror that is the cover art is an oil painting commissioned from in-demand satanic artist Nestor Avalos and begins your visceral journey through cold bleak landscapes, crushing tormented seas and searing shards of heavy metal.”
Originally co-founded in Wales by guitarist Nigel Dennen in the mid-1990s, HECATE ENTHRONED is dedicated to delivering their own brand of evil metal with little regard to politics or the trends of popular demand. The group’s 1997 full-length debut, the Andy Sneap-produced “The Slaughter Of Innocence, A Requiem For The Mighty”(Blackend Records), was a seminal release in the then-burgeoning orchestral black metal movement. Since then, several full-lengths and EPs and numerous live performances have firmly established the band as one of extreme metal’s most important voices, a sentiment that “Embrace Of The Godless Aeon” firmly reinforces.
HECATE ENTHRONED’s next live performance will take place on December 1 at the Tabernacle Chapel in Llandundo, North Wales, followed by a show in Belgium on December 14th with Altar at De Verlichte Geest in Roeselare. The group plans to tour extensively throughout 2019.
PROFANATICA reveal the new track, PRAYER IN ECLIPSE from forthcoming mini-album, ALTAR OF THE VIRGIN WHORE
Underground legends Profanatica reveal the new track “Prayer in Eclipse.” The track hails from the band’s forthcoming mini-album, Altar of the Virgin Whore, which will be released this coming November by Hell’s Headbangers on CD, 12″ vinyl, and cassette tape formats. The mini-album’s release coincides with a European tour alongside Watain and Rotting Christ (dates after the jump). .
Profanatica need no introduction: pioneers of American black metal, masters of barbaric minimalism, desecrators of all that’s pure and clean – and iconoclasts to the very end. Ever since the band’s reformation/re-invigoration with 2007’s Profanatitas de Domonatia, full-length albums have been the preferred format for Paul Ledney and crew. However, going back the band’s beyond-classic Weeping in Heaven in 1991, it could be argued that Profanatica are at their most potent when doing EPs and that’s precisely what Altar of the Virgin Whore is: 20 minutes of cruel ‘n’ crushing sonic defilement that bears all the bulldozing trademarks of the band post-reformation. No need for further fancy words here; this is simply and totally Profanatica, distilled to its short/sharp/shocked essence and rendered in the rudest and rawest form.
The release of Altar of the Virgin Whore shall be joined by long-awaited vinyl reissues of Profanatica‘s first two albums, the aforementioned Profanatitas de Domonatia and 2010’s Disgusting Blasphemies Against God.

DEATHHAMMER premiere new track for new album, Chained To Hell
Today, blackthrash elite Deathhammer premiere the new track “Threshold of Doom”.The track hails from the band’s highly anticipated fourth album, Chained to Hell, set for international release on October 5th via Hells Headbangers.By now, Deathhammer should need no introduction. For 13 years, this insatiable Norwegian duo have been at the forefront of the burgeoning blackthrash movement. Though blackthrash has seen intermittent surges in popularity over the last few decades, for sole members Sadomancer and SargeantSalsten, this is a way of life – not a trend. Deathhammer proved as much as with their cult debut album, Phantom Knights, in 2010 and then proved it yet further and more fully – and more furiously and filthily – with 2013’s Onward to the Pits and 2015’s Evil Power, both of which were released by Hells Headbangers to widespread international acclaim. And yet, through it all, the duo kept their wits about them, simply being Deathhammer and taking their irresistible (and irresistibly evil) charm to stages worldwide, including a command performance at Hells Headbangers‘ Hells Headbash 2 in 2015.
With the stage set thusly, Chained to Hell is a statement of intent for Deathhammer: this is who they are, eternally, and there’s no turning back. Everything that’s endeared the duo to legions worldwide – bursting-at-the-seams energy, forever-forward momentum, coiling-yet-catchy songwriting, and that strangely clean ‘n’ clanging guitar tone that’s somehow dirtier than most other blackthrash out there – is here, both in a state that’s blood-red raw and sagely mature. It’s a unique duality that Deathhammer so unselfconsciously exude here, that youthful enthusiasm somehow remaining intact but simultaneously imparting an aeons-old wisdom, the entirety of classic metal history run through a rusty blender. Of course, the firmest foundation still remains that fateful year of 1985, when when Sodom and especially Destruction were releasing their respective, undeniably classic debut EPs – but also of course, Deathhammer possess that elusive charisma that elevates Chained to Hell from lazy pastiche to a crucial component in that blackthrashing continuum.
Some bands age like fine wine, while others are mostly remembered for their early, exuberant energy. With Chained to Hell, Deathhammer prove you can do both!

Today, Iron Bonehead Productions sets September 28th as the international release date for a new mini-album from the legendary Black Funeral, The Dust and Darkness, on CD and 12″ vinyl formats.Formed in 1993, Black Funeral are one of the founders of American black metal. The band’s first two albums, 1995’s Vampyr – Throne of the Beast and 1997’s Empire of Blood, are widely considered black metal classics, and are among the earliest releases on the cult Full Moon Productions label. Since the beginning, the band has been guided by the boundless vision of one Michael Ford (AKA Akhtya Nachttoter), who has concurrently garnered international respect as a leading author on Luciferianism and occultism. And although many lineups have come and gone since those pioneering first two lineups, Black Funeral found its strongest formation yet with 2016’s Ankou and the Death Fire. Released to widespread acclaim by Iron Bonehead, the album saw the inclusion of Drowning the Light mastermind Azgorh Drakenhof handling guitar, bass, and keyboards. As such, musically, Akkou and the Death Fire was a purely black metal record brimming with medieval majesty and malnourished misery, a blackflame both bright and bleary, all laced with Ford’s characteristically chilling ambient soundscapes. In many ways, it was a reinvigoration of the classic Black Funeral sound, and that forward momentum continues unabated with The Dust and Darkness.
Recorded 2017 in Australia and the United States, The Dust and Darkness is a recalling and vampyric sonic ritual of Hittite, Hurrian, Canaanite, and ancient Syrian Underworld offerings and necromancy. The title “Dankuis Daganzipas” is the Hittite Underworld, “The Dark Earth,” and is the dwelling place of spirits and chthonic deities who desired blood as their primary offering besides incense and libations. The Lady of the Underworld, Allani, is the ancient Hurrian goddess who is a type of psychopomp as a solar deity who guides the dead into the Underworld. Allani is identical to the Mesopotamian Ereskigal. The god “Chemosh of the Dust and Darkness” is an epithet for an Ugaritic deity of the Underworld who is similar to both Baal of Peor (Belphegor) and Nergal. His name was associated with elements of the underworld and “Bird of Prey.” As such, the four songs comprising The Dust and Darkness sonically surge with grim abandon and majestic melancholy, unflinching in their familiarity but only because this is the Black Funeral whose name is legendry within the darkest depths of the black metal underground. It is altogether 17 minutes of invocation and seduction, exacted by deft hands well versed in the blackest of magick. Here, there is only The Dust and Darkness…
